Police Seek Information On Brooklyn Park Hit & Run Of Pedestrian

On November 1, 2012 at approximately 12:37 a.m., officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Northern District responded to a report of a hit and run crash involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian on Ritchie Hwy northbound near Camrose Avenue in Brooklyn Park.

Crash investigators from the Traffic Safety Section responded to the scene to assume the investigation.  Evidence collected at the scene indicates that the vehicle was traveling north on Ritchie Hwy when it struck the pedestrian, who appears to have been walking in the roadway, outside of any crosswalks.  The pedestrian was wearing dark-colored clothing.  After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle failed to remain at the scene of the crash and fled the area.

Evidence suggests the striking vehicle is possibly a 1997 to 2005 model year Pontiac Montana or Chevrolet Venture with damage to the right (passenger side) front turn signal, headlamp lens area, and windshield. (Images are similar to suspected vehicle)

Anyone having any information on this accident is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Section at 410-222-8573 or Police Communications at 410-222-8610.
