Edgewater Man Faces Drug ChargesAnne Arundel County police said an Edgewater man is facing drug charges following an arrest. Following an investigation, detectives served a search warrant at 405 Penwood Drive at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities said they seized approximately 14 grams of marijuana, controlled substance paraphernalia and $153 in cash. Police said the marijuana had an approximate street value of $280.

Police: Man Threw Molotov Cocktail, Kidnapped Woman.  A Glen Burnie man has been charged with attempted murder after police said he forced his way into an apartment, threatened the occupants inside with a knife and a Molotov cocktail and then kidnapped a woman. Anne Arundel County police were called to an apartment in the 300 block of Rose Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday after getting reports of a domestic assault.

Police: Off Duty Officer Catches 2 Burglars.  Two people were arrested after an Anne Arundel County police officer happened upon a disturbance involving an off-duty Baltimore City police officer in Pasadena. Police said an officer who was on patrol in the Pasadena neighborhood of Chelsea Beach came upon the scene of a disturbance in the street near the intersection of Magothy Beach Road and C Street on Tuesday.

Hurricane Sandy Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down.  Hurricane Sandy (track on interactive radar) made landfall over southeastern Jamaica on Wednesday, and showed little degradation, according to the National Weather Service. The Category 1 hurricane was projected to move across the middle of Jamaica near Kingston before reaching eastern Cuba. According to the National Hurricane Center, Sandy has maximum sustained winds of 80 mph and could dump up to a foot of rain in some places.
