Northrup Grumman To Shed 350 Jobs. Security giant Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems is shedding up to 350 employees. The company is calling it a “voluntary separation program,” involving employees in Maryland, and several other states by early next year. Most of the eliminations will involve managers and directors with some of the reductions impacting non-management employees as well.

College Student Sexually Assaulted Outside Library. Baltimore City police are looking for a man who they said sexually assaulted a college student early Monday morning on the campus of Notre Dame of Maryland. Police said the incident is an important reminder that students should always be cautious, especially at night. The 19-year-old victim told police she was walking home from the library that’s shared by Notre Dame and neighboring Loyola University around 3 a.m. when someone attacked her.

Bay Bridge Re-Opens After Hazmat Incident.  Motorists faced delays after a tanker truck carrying propane was leaking on the Bay Bridge. The Maryland Transportation Authority said at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday a tanker truck began leaking propane on westbound Route 50 just before the westbound span of the Bay Bridge. As a precaution, officials closed westbound and eastbound Route 50 for a short time to maintain a radius of safety as officials worked to plug the leak.

Experts Warn Of Dangerous Side Effects Of Energy Drinks. For years drug experts has been warning people about the dangers of high caffeine drinks, and many believe they should be regulated and properly labeled. “The problem is the caffeine level on these drinks keeps getting larger and larger and larger because of the combination of pure caffeine and the herbal supplements. So when you think of say two plus two, it’s two plus 10,” drug expert Mike Gimbel said.
