LAXGiving Championship November 24th

On Saturday, November 24, 2012, hundreds of lacrosse players will pick up their sticks to work off their Thanksgiving meals while raising funds for two good causes. The LaxGiving second annual charity alumni men’s lacrosse tournament at Anne Arundel Community College will feature teams of alumni from Annapolis, Arundel, Broadneck, Severna Park, South River and Southern area high schools.

Registration begins at 11:00 a.m. and the first game will commence at 12:00 p.m. The second game will begin at 1:30 p.m. followed by the championship game at 3:00 p.m. The registration fee is $55 online, $60 day-of and includes playing privileges as well as a tournament t-shirt.

Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Anne Arundel Alumni LaxGiving Scholarship Fund, which offers financial assistance to a deserving lacrosse player graduating from an Anne Arundel County high school. Proceeds also benefit the Y of Central Maryland in Anne Arundel County, providing Y experiences to kids who need a safe place to go after school and during summer break.

LaxGiving was established by Broadneck High School alumni lacrosse player Greg Karanzalis. Established in 2011, LaxGiving raises money for local scholarships and charity organizations.
