Navy Takes On Indiana University (Final 31-30)

Navy touchdown! And the extra point is good!  Indiana attempted a drive and fell short with an interception which effectively ended the game with less than 2 minutes to play. Navy took a series of “knees” and chalked up a win!

With two minutes left to play, Navy is sitting ten yards away from tying the game.  After a terrific drive (best of the game) Navy is in a position to win this one. Last time, they were down to the 1 and could not close the deal.

Navy had a very strong drive in the 4th quarter taking the ball to the 1 yard line with 5:30 to play in the game. They opted for a successful 18 yard field goal and with 5 minutes left to play, the score is 30-24 in favor of Indiana.

First downs–Navy 15, Indiana 22; Rushing yards–Navy 186, IU 143; Passing yards Navy 25, IU 199.

Coming out of halftime, Navy’s offense came alive with a solid drive aided by a personal foul against Indiana. Halfway through the quarter, Navy scored (Darius Staten) and the score is 21-20.

At the half, Indiana seems to be outplaying Navy despite the score. 17 first downs to Navy’s 8, 171 passing yards to Navy’s 25, 24 attempts and 18 completions to Navy’s 3 and 2.

Navy’s defense came alive with three minutes left to play in the first half with an interception that brought Navy within 3 points of the Hoosiers.  At halftime the score was 17-14.
