Nancy Hammond 2013 PosterPup tents, sleeping bags, lawn chairs, pillows, sleeping dogs, all in a line? This used to be the scene at Nancy Hammond Editions annual poster release day in Centreville, Md.

…..but not any more.

That’s because, for the first time since 1997, the limited edition offset poster will remain one price-$65.00-all day for those who come to Nancy Hammond Editions in person.

It doesn’t matter what time a customer comes that day,  they will be greeted with Polish sausage from Ostrowski’s (a famous Baltimore meat market),  homemade pastries by Christina’s Catering and a signed and numbered poster in a gold foil tube, created especially for Chesapeake lovers by artist Nancy Hammond.

The annual Chesapeake limited-edition poster is released just once a year.  It’s image is kept secret, until a week before, on October 13th when the image is shown in the newspapers, online and at the Quiet Waters Art @ the Park Festival in Annapolis.

The Chesapeake 2013 poster’s title is At the Edge of the Dock.

Sales start Saturday, October 20th at 10am at Nancy Hammond Editions located at 102 Turpins Lane in Centreville, MD.

The price changes the next day, Sunday October 21st, when the price starts at $150.00.  Internet orders and phone orders are taken then.  As the edition sells, the price increases and the last poster in the edition sells for $3000.

“I think this will be the most popular poster ever.  It will relate to many Chesapeake residents and ring a bell with them,” says Nancy Hammond.  “Take a peek at it at Quiet Water’s Art @ the Park Festival. I’d like to know your reaction!”
