Annapolis Crime: Cab Driver Robbed, Rite Aid Held Up

Cab Driver Robbed At Knifepoint

On September 29, 2012, at approximately 3:43 a.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the Hillsmere Library located in the 200 block of Hillsmere Drive in Annapolis for a report of an armed robbery of a taxi cab driver.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the cab driver, who reported that he picked up three males in downtown Annapolis, who requested that they be transported to Annapolis Neck Road in the area of Hillsmere. Once in the area, one of the males asked to be let out at the intersection of Hillsmere Drive and Quiet Waters Park. He exited the cab at that location and paid his fare.

The other two subjects then requested that the driver take them to the Hillsmere Library.  Once there, one suspect displayed a knife and demanded money from the driver. At that time, a struggle ensued with both suspects, who managed to take the driver’s money and flee on foot towards Annapolis Neck Road. The driver also fled on foot from the scene to a nearby gas station, where he called the police. Officers and K-9 canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

Suspects: Two Hispanic males in their teens, approximately 5’5”, wearing dark clothing

Armed Robbery At Rite Aid

On September 29, 2012, at approximately 9:26 a.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the Rite Aid store located in the 2000 block of West Street in Annapolis for a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a male suspect entered the business and asked the cashier for change. The suspect then displayed a handgun and took money from the cash register. The suspect immediately fled from the business and may have entered into a dark-colored mid size car possibly, a Honda Accord, that was seen leaving the area eastbound on West Street. Several officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

Suspect: Black male in his 20’s, approximately 6’0”, 200 pounds with a light complexion, wearing a dark-colored zip up sweatshirt, a white v-neck t-shirt, dark pants and dark shoes.
