Cab Driver Robbed At Knifepoint

On September 29, 2012, at approximately 3:43 a.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the Hillsmere Library located in the 200 block of Hillsmere Drive in Annapolis for a report of an armed robbery of a taxi cab driver.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the cab driver, who reported that he picked up three males in downtown Annapolis, who requested that they be transported to Annapolis Neck Road in the area of Hillsmere. Once in the area, one of the males asked to be let out at the intersection of Hillsmere Drive and Quiet Waters Park. He exited the cab at that location and paid his fare.

The other two subjects then requested that the driver take them to the Hillsmere Library.  Once there, one suspect displayed a knife and demanded money from the driver. At that time, a struggle ensued with both suspects, who managed to take the driver’s money and flee on foot towards Annapolis Neck Road. The driver also fled on foot from the scene to a nearby gas station, where he called the police. Officers and K-9 canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.

Suspects: Two Hispanic males in their teens, approximately 5’5”, wearing dark clothing
