This month offers an inspiring harvest from the fields accompanied by a myriad of seasonal events in the community. Roundz Gourmet Market (2299 Johns Hopkins Rd., Gambrills, MD), owned by award-winning Chef Zachary Pope, wraps up summer and celebrates the first day of Fall (9/22) with these events:

National Acorn Squash Day

Friday, September 7, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Roundz pays homage to one of our favorites: acorn squash! Join us for menu specials featuring this colorful, power-packed autumnal herald.

Roundz featured at Maryland Hall Arts Alive “An Evening in Paris”

Friday, September 7, 6-10:30 p.m.

Roundz will be on hand at Maryland Hall in Annapolis with amazing appetizers for the 14th Annual Arts Alive. This is Maryland Hall’s major fundraiser of the year with proceeds supporting art programs for the community. Information on this event is available at http://www.mdhallarts.org/

Crofton Elementary School Fundraiser

Monday, September 10, 5:30- 8 p.m.

Chef Pope (a Crofton Elementary parent) offers a great buffet of family favorites with 10 percent of the proceeds going to benefit Crofton Elementary School. Roundz After Dark

Friday, September 14, 7:30 p.m.

Chefs Zachary Pope & Robert Brown present an evening of culinary masterpiece. Guests will enjoy watching the preparation and plating of a 6-course dinner while listening to live music. Chef Pope will discuss the meal and entertain questions throughout the evening. Chefs will prepare items featuring quail, sea scallops, salmon & steak. Cooking Class- “Knife Skills & Vegetable Cookery”

Monday, September 24, 7:30 pm

Topics that go hand-in-hand. Learn about types of knives, what is best suited for your needs and the most effective stance and handling of a kitchen knife. With vegetable cookery, Chef Pope will guide students through fresh preparations of seasonal vegetables. Class is two-hours with dining at the conclusion. $60. Reservations required. 443.292.4631
