Severn Man Charged After Son, 5, Took Methadone.  A Severn man was arrested on drug charges Tuesday evening after police were called to his home because his 5-year-old son had accidentally taken methadone and wasn’t breathing. Emergency officials were called to a home in the 1200 block of Reece Road around 8 p.m. to help resuscitate the child, who was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment.

Armed Robbers Target Cape St. Claire Man With No Money. Armed robbers struck a man in the Annapolis area Wednesday morning. Anne Arundel County police are seeking witnesses to an incident in the 1300 block of Cape St. Claire Road near Little Magothy View at about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday. Police said two men, one armed with a gun, tried to rob a man, demanding money. When the victim indicated he had no money, the assailants struck him and fled in a dark green four-door car that did not have a license plate on the front.

Crews To Spray Parts Of Glen Burnie For West Nile Virus. Maryland state health officials have scheduled times for crews to spray for West Nile virus. Spraying is scheduled to take place in the Milford Mill area of Baltimore County after 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 and 13 (see map). Then, crews will spray in the Harundale and Marley areas of Anne Arundel County on Sept. 11 and 18 after 7:30 p.m. (see map).

Baltimore Prepares To Celebrate Phelps, Other Olympians, Paralympians. Baltimore plans to celebrate the Olympic achievements of Michael Phelps and other Marylanders in the Inner Harbor. The governor’s office said the event will be held Monday afternoon at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Amphitheater. Phelps and Maryland Olympians and Paralympians will attend the event, along with Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Gov. Martin O’Malley and Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz
