As a school for children with dyslexia and other learning differences, Summit strives to educate the community on learning differences, assessment, practical strategies, and how these difficulties affect school achievement. - Wednesday, September 19 – FREE Workshop – Assessing Children Who Struggle in School presented by Dr. Michael Castleberry, Director of Clinical Education, from 8:45am-10:00am at The Summit School.
- Wednesday, October 3 – FREE Workshop – Executive Function Dysfunction: Why Some Children Struggle in School presented by Dr. Joan Mele-McCarthy, Head of School, from 8:45am-10:00am at The Summit School.
- Saturday, November 3 – The Zelma Wynn Symposium on New Generations of High-Tech Youth: How We Teach Them and Parent Them presented by Dr. Larry D. Rosen, international expert in the “Psychology of Technology” and author of iDisorder, from 8:30am-3:30pm at The Summit School. Fee to attend (including an early bird rate). - Thursday, November 8 – FREE Seminar – What is this thing called Dyslexia? presented by Dr. Jane R. Snider, Founding Executive Director, from 7:00pm-8:30pm at The Severna Park Community Center.
- Friday, November 16– FREE Workshop – Strategies to Make Sense of Mathematics for Students Who Learn Differently presented by Dr. Honi Bamberger, Professor of Mathematics at Towson University, from 8:45am-10:00am at The Summit School. This session will focus on middle- to upper-school students.
