Department Of Aging Wins Award

The Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities is a winner in the 21st annual National Mature Media Awards Program. The program, presented by the Mature Market Resource Center, a national clearinghouse for the senior market, recognizes the nation’s finest marketing, communications, educational materials, and programs designed and produced for older adults.

The Department’s annual resource directory, “Services for Seniors, Adults with Disabilities, and Caregivers,” received a Bronze Award for Miscellaneous Publications in the Government Category. Those involved with the design and production are the Department, the Friends of Arundel Seniors, What’s Up Media Group, and the Senior Service Provider Group. A total of 50,000 copies of the free publication are printed each year during May, Older Americans Month, and distributed throughout the county. The information also is available online at www.aacounty.org/aging in the Quick Links area.

“We were delighted to take part in the Mature Media Awards Program this year, and are honored to be selected as a national winner,” says Pamela A. Jordan, Department director.

Nearly 1,000 entries were judged by a distinguished panel of mature market experts from across the United States for overall excellence of design, content, creativity, and relevance to the senior market.
