Aldermanic Candidate’s Wife Charged With Burglary

Nichol A Conley, of Galesville, was arrested by the Annapolis Police Department last night after she attempted to enter a residence on Prince George Street in the City’s Historic District.  The resident discovered Conley with the top half of her body inside the kitchen of the residence, leaning through a window which had been closed, but not locked.  Conley immediately withdrew from the residence when confronted.  The resident chased Conley, escorted her back to the residence, and called the police.  Conley was charged with 4th degree burglary and trespassing.

Conley is the estranged wife of former Aldermanic Candidate for Ward 5, James Conley. In May 2012, James Conley successfully petitioned for a  protection order against his wife and she was ordered to vacate the home, not abuse or have contact with her husband, and to surrender all firearms. In January 2011, Conley was employed with the Maryland Department of Transportation and worked in the same office as then Secretary, Beverly Swaim-Staley.
