Annapolis Mayor Responds To Eastport Residents’ Safety Concerns

In response to the recent calls for more security at the Eastport Community Center during the election, Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen has called a meeting of residents.

From an email received by a few Eastport residents:

RECALLED: We were advised that this meeting was not a public meeting for residents who were concerned but for a small group of concerned residents. We have been told that based on the discussions, there will be a call for a  more public meeting in the future!

The concern from resident’s stems from the increasing violence in the two public housing communities that surround the Eastport Community Center. It is unknown why the meeting is not being held at the community center; but in the police station on the other side of town.
