2 Killed In Ellicott City Train Derailment. Two people have died in a massive train derailment in Ellicott City, and those living in the area may find problems during the Tuesday morning commute because of it. Howard County police and fire department personnel were called to Main Street around midnight after getting reports that an eastbound CSX train had come off the tracks on a historic bridge. Emergency workers said 21 cars of an 80-car freight train derailed and overturned, crushing several vehicles in a parking lot below the bridge.

Edgewater Navy SEAL Dies In Afghanistan Firefight. The Pentagon said late Monday that a Navy SEAL from Maryland was among those killed last week when a U.S. military helicopter crashed during a firefight with insurgents in a remote area of southern Afghanistan. Special Warfare Operator Petty Officer 1st Class Patrick D. Feeks, of Edgewater, was among seven Americans and four Afghans killed in the helicopter crash northeast of Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Thursday.

Police: Man Holds Ex-Girlfriend At Gunpoint In Glen Burnie.  Police said a Glen Burnie man was arrested and faces assault and burglary charges after an incident in Pasadena. Officers were called to the 300 block of Maryland Avenue at about 10 p.m. Friday. A caller told authorities his mother’s ex-boyfriend was holding her at gunpoint in a bedroom after he threatened him with a handgun.

Police Seek Woman Who Used Stolen Credit Card In Gambrills Target.  Anne Arundel County police said they are looking for a woman they said used a stolen credit card to make purchases. Police said a woman was caught on tape three times exiting a Target store at 2384 Brandermill Blvd. in Gambrills after using a stolen credit card and attempting to use others. It happened at 9:46 p.m. Aug. 10, at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and about 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday
