As we all know, Annapolis has been without bus shelters for many months. The old shelters were removed when an advertising contract expired. The new contract took a while to get in place to the detriment of those who rely on public transit to get around. To battle the stifling heat, people brought their own lawn chairs, umbrellas, and otherwise made the best of a bad situation.
The new agreement was signed a little moe than a month ago and just this afternoon, the brand Manager for the Annapolis Department of Transportation has advised Eye On Annapolis that the shelters will begin to return early next week. The shelters will not be replaced all at once; but will be gradually be replaced. But, it is a mov in the right direction. If you see one going up, please let us know!
