Eye On Annapolis Maintenance Update

Remember when you were a kid?  Your mom or dad took you to the store just before school started to get you a brand new pair of Pro-Keds sneakers? You know, the ones that could make you run faster and jump higher?

Well, welcome to the new millennium. Eye On Annapolis is getting some new sneakers too in the way of a brand spanking new server!  We have taxed the existing one to such a degree that it has become unreliable and quite honestly, down-time is not an option.

So, over the course of the next seven to ten days, we will begin the process of moving. If all goes well, you will not notice a darned thing. But you might experience times when the site will load  v e r y slowly as we move data from one to the other.

The plan is to throw the switch on Tuesday, August 28th (the first day of school) at noon. At that point, we will not have any new posts until the server has completely moved over and adjusted itself–estimated up to 24 hours but probably less.

We will be covering the slack over on Facebook and Twitter so be sure to follow us there as well!
