City Announces More Delays In Bus Shelters

The Annapolis Department of Transportation announced they are waiting for necessary construction drawings from Creative Outdoor Advertising (COA), the company contracted by the City to install, maintain, and manage the bus stop shelters, before giving authorization to begin installation.
After lengthy negotiations, the ten year contract with COA was signed on July 5.
“The City will do everything it can to expedite the permit process, but we are still waiting for COA to submit the proper drawings,” Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen said. “When we signed the contract back on July 5, it was with the understanding that shelters would be up within six to eight weeks.  Now here we are six weeks later, and COA has not installed even one shelter. Our bus riders deserve better.”
“We are currently working on obtaining all required permits,” COA Director of Municipal Administration Inna Gerchikov said.
