Tickets Selling Fast For Kegs & Corks Beer & Wine Festival

Tickets are selling fast for the Kegs and Corks Beer and Wine Festival on August 25 and 26, 2012. This first time event will be held at Blob’s Park in Jessup, Maryland and is the only official Beer and Wine Festival in Anne Arundel County in 2012.  Blob’s Park Bavarian Beer Garden was the home of America’s first Oktoberfest back in 1947 and is the perfect venue to host this unique festival where craft beer, microbrews and local and international wine come together for a fun weekend for all…catering to beer and wine lovers alike.

“As soon as we pulled up to Blob’s Park, we knew it was the perfect place to hold this event. You feel like you’ve traveled to Germany and once you’ve sampled some of their 80 beers from around the world you won’t want to leave” says Sharon Finecey of Inspired Events, the festival’s planner and promoter. Blob’s Park is conveniently located six miles south of BWI Airport off the Baltimore/Washington Parkway (295) at Rte 175 East (one exit from Arundel Mills Mall).

Don’t miss this opportunity to taste carefully selected craft beers and microbrews, in addition to local and international wines. Visit the Maryland Tent, which will feature local wineries and breweries. While you are there enjoy aMaryland crab cake and some fresh local oysters.  Visit the Germany Pavilion, sponsored by Blob’s Park, and enjoy some delicious homemade German cuisine in addition to German beer and international wines.

Tickets include a souvenir glass, ticketless sampling of over 25 craft beers and 25 local and international wines, plus live entertainment.  The outdoor stage will feature live music performances by The Kelly Bell Band, Sweet Leda, an Appaloosa Reunion Show, Roadhouse Clams, and more.  Check out the inside stage and listen to polka music by The Continentals on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Lost in the 50’s Antique Car Club will be showcased on Saturday and Sunday, with a visit from the Free State Corvette Club on Sunday.

Featured breweries include Clipper City/Heavy Seas, DuClaw, Fordham, Old Dominion, Starr Hill, Port City, and Yards.  Local wineries include St. Michael’s Winery, Cassanelli Winery and Vineyards, Cove Point Winery, Legends Vineyard, and Far Eastern Shore Winery.

Presented by Eye on Annapolis, the 2012 Kegs and Corks Beer and Wine Festival is being planned and promoted by Inspired Events.  A portion of the proceeds will go to purchase an AED for Anne Arundel County Athletic Fields.

Advance tickets are now on sale for $25 each and available online at www.KegsandCorksFest.com or at Blob’s Park.  Tickets purchased at the gate are $30 each. Tickets for Military members (active or retired) and their spouse are $20 in advance online or at the gate (limit 2 – must show military I.D. at gate).  Groups of 10 or more are $20 each in advance only. Tickets for designated drivers and ages 13 – 20 are $10.  Kids 12 and under are free with paying adult. This is a tented event so join us rain or shine. Hours are Saturday and Sunday noon to 6:00 PM.
