Bath Salts Create Zombie-Like Effect On Users.  Experts said the drug commonly known as bath salts has become much more powerful since it first became available two years ago. Video evidence of its zombie-like effects on people is frightening, those experts said. Last year, the Maryland Poison Center said it received 75 bath-salt-related calls, with the majority of users between the ages of 40 to 49.

Pool Law Requiring Defibrillators Up For Vote. A vote is set for July 2 on emergency legislation requiring pools in Anne Arundel County to have a defibrillator. Proposed by County Executive John Leopold, Connor’s Law is named for 5-year-old Connor Freed, who drowned at a country club pool back in 2006. It is believed the lifeguard was not trained to use the defibrillator.

Man, 44, Arrested In Attempted Odenton Robbery. Police said a 44-year-old man was arrested in connection to an attempted robbery in Odenton.  Officers were called to the Exxon gas station in the 1300 block of Annapolis Road at 1:38 a.m. on Friday. A 29-year-old man told police he got out of his vehicle and was about to enter the store when he was approached by the man, who asked for money. The victim told the man he didn’t have any, but the man then grabbed him, demanded money and threatened to hurt him, police said.

Police: Man Loses Bag Full Of Cash On I-97. Maryland State Police are looking for information after a large amount of cash was lost along Interstate 97 Friday morning in Anne Arundel County. Troopers said they were contacted by a man who reported that he’d lost a bank bag containing a large amount of cash. The man said he was employed by a Glen Burnie convenience store and was on his way to make a bank deposit when he put the bag on top of his SUV and forgot about it before driving away.
