$32,000 In Watches Stolen From Car In Carwash

According to the Annapolis Police Department, John Lane, 46, of Annapolis stole a bag of watches valued at more than $30,000 from a car while it was being washed. The incident occurred at the West Street Car Wash near the intersection of West and Chinquapin Round Roads.

The theft was discovered immediately and Lane, an employee of the car wash admitted to the theft.  According to the Annapolis Police, he was released by the Court Commissioner.

According to online court records, Lane has a lengthy record of criminal charges dating back to 1990 including breaking and entering, drugs, gambling, destruction of property, theft, as well as numerous traffic violations.

Most recently, on November 23, 2011, a warrant with a “no bond” status was issued for a violation of probation stemming from a drug conviction in 2009 where Lane was sentenced to 18 months at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.

 

 

1900 block of West St – 06/05 at 11am: While the vehicle was being washed and vacuumed a bag containing $32,300 worth of watches was removed from the vehicle. The watches were recovered and an employee of the business admitted to the theft. John Lane, 46, of Annapolis was charged with theft over $10,000, he was released by the Court Commissioner.
