A car traveling the wrong way on northbound I-97 has killed one person and left another in shock trauma with life threatening injuries.

The accident was reported just before 2am in the northbound lanes of I-97 just before the Benfield Road exit in Millersville. From initial reports, a vehicle was traveling south in the north bond lanes and hit another vehicle head on. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle was ejected and ultimately pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. The other driver was trapped and needed to be extricated prior to being flown to shock-trauma with life threatening conditions.
