Less than 24 hours later on Thursday, business was booming at the new casino. Casino officials predict at least 5,000 people were there late Thursday afternoon.
2 Women Sue BGE For Gross Negligence . Two women from two Maryland counties have filed a lawsuit against Baltimore Gas and Electric, claiming the utility failed to fix a dangerous problem that sparked a fire. The lawsuit alleges that beginning in January 2010, Catricia Lankford, a tenant who lives in a home in Lothian owned by Linda Reynolds, noticed electrical surges.
3 Teens Charged In Attempted Galesville Firebombing . Authorities said three people were arrested and charged with the attempted firebombing of a home in Galesville. About 1:30 a.m. on June 1, Ann Arundel County firefighters were called to a report of a suspicious package in the 900 block of Galesville Road. County fire and explosives investigators and police headed to the scene after incendiary devices were discovered by the resident of the home after going outside to investigate a noise. Firefighters found Molotov cocktails at the scene, along with two cars that were also damaged.
Maryland State Police Switch From Berettas To Glocks . The Maryland State Police is in the midst of ending a long-term agreement with a Maryland-based gun manufacturer. State Police said they noticed problems with the .40-caliber Berettas during training, including the failure of the gun’s magazine to fall free when a trooper needed to reload and that bullets would unexpectedly fall out of the magazine.
