Woman Discovered Dead At Arundel Mills Mall

Arundel Mills

Mall security at the Arundel Mills Mall discovered a dead woman in her vehicle early this morning. Police have identified the victim and have indicated that they do not suspect foul play. From the police report:

On May 6, 2012, 0530 hours, Arundel Mills Mall security officers called 911 to report an injured/sick person inside a vehicle parked at the Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) satellite building, 7009 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover.  The report indicated a female appeared unconscious.

Fire Department/EMS personnel and police officers found an unconscious female slumped inside the vehicle behind the AACC building.  She was the lone occupant and was determined to be deceased.  The victim, an African-American female in her early 20’s, has been positively identified but her next of kin has not been notified.  No additional information on her exact age, address or other descriptors is being released pending their notification.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division responded and have assumed responsibility for the investigation.  Investigators are working closely with both Arundel Mills Mall and Anne Arundel Community College security personnel to identify leads and potential witnesses.  Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 410.222.8610 or Metro Crime Stoppers as indicated below.

It remains extremely early in the investigation, but detectives indicate there were no obvious signs of foul play.  It remains unknown at this time how long the female or the vehicle had been at the location they were found.  The victim was transported to the Office of the Medical Examiner, and in light of the on-going investigation, no further information is being released at this time.
