TriRock Race To Close Roads On Saturday

The TriRock Triathalon is being held at City Dock and along Route 450, Rowe Blvd and Randall, King George, Bladen, and Main Streets this Saturday morning, May 12.  Streets will be closed at 6:00 AM.  They will reopen after the race has passed, with many streets reopening by 10:45 AM.  Dock Street will not reopen until noon.

Motorists needing to enter or exit the area should go to the “metering” intersections (click here to view these locations) where you will be allowed to cross if contestants are not actually passing by.  The metering intersections within Ward One will be at Bladen/Calvert and King George/Maryland.  These provide downtown residents and businesses entry and egress to the area via West St and one lane of Rowe Blvd.

In order to mitigate the noise from the race sound systems, this year’s start time will be 7:00 AM, and the organizer says speakers will be adjusted to aim sound at the participants, not the community.
