Midshipman Dismissed For Wrongful Sexual Contact. A Naval Academy midshipman has been dismissed from service after he was found guilty of wrongful sexual contact by a military court. Midshipman 1st Class Matthew Cook, of Traskwood, Ark., was convicted last week on charges related to an alleged off-campus rape of a female midshipman in August 2010.

Severna Park Mortgage Broker Sentenced To Prison. A judge has sentenced a broker to more than three years in prison for her role in a mortgage fraud scheme that resulted in nearly $5 million in fraudulent loans. Mary Anne Dean, 60, of Severna Park, was sentenced Tuesday to 37 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with the scheme, which ultimately cost lenders nearly $1 million and caused homeowners to lose more than $1.2 million in equity in their homes, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office.

3 Mega Millions Tickets Worth $250K Unclaimed. Anyone who bought Mega Millions tickets in Bel Air in the past month should really double-check their tickets — they could unknowingly have $250,000 waiting for them. Tuesday night’s drawing produced a $250,000 second-tier winning ticket that was sold at a 7-Eleven store in the 1300 block of Churchville Road in Bel Air, according to  The Maryland Lottery. A second-tier winning ticket matches all five white balls, but not the red Mega Ball.

Huguely Trial Evidence To Go On Display. The public will have an opportunity to view some evidence from the trial of a former University of Virginia lacrosse player convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend. Charlottesville Circuit Court Clerk Llezelle Dugger told media outlets that non-sensitive evidence will go on display May 15 and May 16 in the main courtroom.
