Anne Arundel County Public Schools’ Countywide Citizen Advisory Committee will receive an update on proposed revisions to the administrative regulation regarding the school system’s grading procedures at its next meeting, scheduled for Monday, May 7, 2012.

Dr. George Arlotto, Associate Superintendent for School Performance, will discuss the proposed changes to the regulation, which stipulates the practices employed by teachers, schools, and the school system regarding the evaluation and reporting of student progress at all levels of the school system. AACPS officials are working on revisions to several areas of the regulation for implementation in the 2012-2013 school year.
Superintendent Kevin Maxwell is revising the regulation to ensure consistency in grading procedures among schools, among teachers within schools, and throughout the school system. AACPS is also soliciting public comment on the proposed changes through an online link at www.aacps.org.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Board Room at the Parham Building, located at 2644 Riva Road in Annapolis. CAC meetings are open to the public.
