Police Corporal Suspended As Part Of Leopold Fallout. Sources have told the 11 News I-Team that a corporal in the Anne Arundel County Police Department has been suspended on accusations that he improperly accessed a police database.  The accusations are the latest fallout in the investigation of County Executive John Leopold. Leopold is charged with misusing his police security detail to facilitate romantic encounters with a county employee and to run personal errands.

Severna Park Mortgage Broker Sentenced To Prison.  A judge has sentenced a broker to more than three years in prison for her role in a mortgage fraud scheme that resulted in nearly $5 million in fraudulent loans. Mary Anne Dean, 60, of Severna Park, was sentenced Tuesday to 37 months in prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with the scheme, which ultimately cost lenders nearly $1 million and caused homeowners to lose more than $1.2 million in equity in their homes, according to the Maryland U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Man Sought In SunTrust Bank Robbery.  Anne Arundel County police are looking for the man who robbed a Pasadena bank on Wednesday.  Police said the man walked into the SunTrust Bank at the Safeway grocery store in the 4200 block of Mountain Road and demanded cash. Detectives said while the man didn’t display a weapon, he did imply that he was armed.

Police Unity Tour Pedals Through Maryland. The Police Unity Tour pedaled through much of Maryland Friday to raise awareness of police officers who have paid the ultimate price. The fundraising bicycle ride raises money for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. Members of the tour arrived in Baltimore next to the Shot Tower downtown. The ride stopped at the BPD memorial for a short time for a wreath-laying ceremony.
