On May 7, 2012, at approximately 2:01 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the 5200 block of Nick Road near Scott Town Road for a report of an Armed Subject with a knife.
The homeowner called 911 reported a person was in the living room armed with a knife. The calling party also stated the person was acting irrational and appeared to be ready to cut himself. Upon arrival, officers encountered the subject and attempted to take him into protective custody in order to perform an emergency petition.
A violent struggle ensued as the suspect attacked the officers. Officers defended themselves and attempted to gain control. During this struggle, the subject attempted to disarm one officer and bit a second officer on the leg. Officers called for emergency assistance and were finally able to employ a Taser to gain control. The suspect and one officer were transported by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center.

On May 8, 2012, at approximately 8:38 p.m., officers from the Southern district responded to the 400 block of Silver Run Road near Shore Drive in the community of Woodland Beach for a report of an unknown disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with a citizen who stated that there was a naked man on his front porch acting irrationally. Through their training, knowledge and experience, the officers believed the suspect was likely under the influence of PCP. The officers then used a tactical approach in an attempt to take the subject into protective custody in order to perform an emergency petition.
When approached by officers, the subject became very aggressive. He took a combative stance facing the officers and refused numerous orders to place his hands behind him and comply with their efforts to take him into custody. As officers attempted to physically restrain the suspect, he began to violently struggle and resist officers attempts to handcuff him. Officers then employed a Taser; however, it was largely ineffective in subduing him. He continued to violently combat the officer’s efforts until, after a protracted struggle; they were able to gain control.
The subject was transported by ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center. Upon discharge from the hospital, the suspect was charged with disorderly conduct, indecent exposure & resisting arrest.
