Righttime Medical Care Redesigns Annapolis Office

Righttime Medical Care has opened its newly expanded Annapolis Care Center at 2114 General’s Highway. Located across from Westfield Annapolis Mall, the Care Center has been extensively renovated to double its original size.

The redesign allows providers a more efficient space to care for patients with resources that include an orthopedic room with a mini C-arm x-ray, on-site laboratory services, fast-track triage and separate trauma areas.

Using innovative design, Righttime in Annapolis replaces the feel of a traditional medical facility. Walls of glass use natural sunlight for bright surroundings, while an outdoor seasonal wellness garden allows patients to harmonize with nature. Comfortable private seating, a soothing water wall, and engaging art and textures immediately greet patients. Wherever possible, Righttime incorporated environmentally conscious features into the design, including energy efficient lighting, nontoxic paints, recycled materials and high-efficiency zoned cooling and heating system.

The exterior of the building also received a total renovation. An LED-lit front awning changes every minute to reflect the colors of the season or specific holidays. Along one side of the building, a series of five suns and moons changes colors from morning to night, conveying Righttime’s extended hours of care.

With nine Care Centers across three counties and more opening later this year, Annapolis is Righttime’s original location. Robert G. Graw, Jr., M.D., CEO and chief pediatrician of Righttime Medical Care founded the former Nighttime Pediatrics along with several other private practice pediatricians in 1989 to provide after-hours care for infants and children of working parents. The building had been shared by Righttime and a successful pediatric dental practice, which moved to a larger location.

The newly available space created the opportunity to expand. “Medicine has changed substantially since Nighttime first opened more than two decades ago,” says Dr. Graw. “We now have new technologies available, and this new space allows us more room to care for patients with an improved flow.”

The new look reflects the design found at several other Righttime Care Centers. “We wanted to do the same for our Annapolis patients, knowing the renovation is providing them with an enhanced overall experience,” says Dr. Graw. “Our patients and their families have told us they appreciate the inviting atmosphere as it reassures and comforts them when they need it most.”

The exterior renovation was designed by Purple Cherry Architects of Annapolis, Md., with construction by The Mullan Contracting Company of Lutherville, Md. Amy Knappen, of Righttime Medical Care, served as project manager for both interior and exterior spaces.
