Prom, Graduation, Prompt Reminders About Drugs And Alcohol. One local high school is reminding students of the importance of making smart decisions. It’s especially important this time of year as they make plans for major senior events like the prom and graduation. At South River High School, the seniors are counting down the days until graduation, tying up classroom assignments and making sure they’re prepared to cross the stage.

Student Cooks Learn From Culinary Masters. Some high school culinary students in Anne Arundel County got to learn techniques from around the world on Tuesday from some pro chefs at the Culinary Institute of America. The student cooks at the Center of Applied Technology North in Anne Arundel County have been fine-tuning their skills in the kitchen all year.  “I love food in general. I do have a passion for it, and I love putting a smile on people’s faces when they see what I can do with food,” said 12th-grade student Jemischa Albo.

Three Shot In Harford County. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office investigated a triple shooting in Edgewood on Tuesday night. The shooting occurred just after 8 p.m. in the 1900 block of Edgewater Drive. Deputies said a 43-year-old man was shot and taken by ambulance to John Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Investigators said the second victim, a 26-year-old man, was taken to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center by ambulance.

Man Charged In Columbia Mall Fires. A young man charged in a mall fire Thursday also faces charges for six other cases of arson. Howard County firefighters were called at about 5:40 a.m. Thursday for a fire in a trailer that caused extensive smoke damage to the Sears inside the Mall in Columbia. The trailer ignited while attached to a loading dock at the store.
