Water Colour Gallery Opens In West Annapolis

Open For Business

Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen and Annapolis Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) President and CEO Lara Fritts are pleased to announce the grand opening of Water Colour Gallery.

The gallery, located at 11 Annapolis Street, is owned by Jessica Gibson Moran and Amy M. Taylor who showcase all local Annapolis residents as the artists. They celebrated their opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the gallery on Friday, April 13, at 5:00 p.m.

“I know there is an overwhelming amount of talent in Annapolis and I applaud Ms. Moran and Ms. Taylor for offering a venue to feature these amazing men and women,” Mayor Cohen said. “We often take for granted the creative brilliance in our City and we need to embrace it as part of our enduring appeal.”

The gallery plans to have some long-term artists whose collections and works will be continuously displayed, as well as rotating artists who will show their work for shorter periods of time.

“The arts in Annapolis continue to be an economic driver for the community,” said AEDC President and CEO Lara Fritts.  “We welcome the Water Colour Gallery and wish them great success in their new endeavor.”

A number of the artists will conduct studio workshops as well as demonstrations on how they produce an art image and/or product.

“Our gallery not only features oil and watercolor paintings, photographic images, and hand painted scarves, but beautiful pottery, luminaries and hand made sterling jewelry,” Ms. Jessica Gibson Moran said.  “Each piece is truly unique and would be a beautiful addition to anyone’s home.”

The gallery is open on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. The gallery is also available by appointment.  The owners hope to have the hours extended during the summer months.  You can contact the gallery at 410-280-1141.
