Stanton Center To Host After School Homework Club Banquet

The Banquet is set for Friday, May 11 at 5 p.m. It will be held in the gymnasium of the Stanton Community Center, located at 92 W. Washington Street in Annapolis.

Fourth grader Earia Wainwright, of Annapolis Elementary, and seventh grader Arnold Chew, of Wiley H. Bates Middle School, will speak to their fellow peers that evening. Dr. Kevin M. Maxwell, Superintendent of Anne Arundel County Public Schools, will greet the Banquet attendees.

Awards will be presented to elementary, middle and high school students consisting of:  honor roll, perfect attendance, mastery of multiplication, mastery of addition, mastery of division, sight word proficiency, positive attitude and love of learning.

The After School Homework Club program at the Stanton Community Center is a volunteer-based program and is designed to help elementary, middle and high school students strengthen their academic skills. Students receive tutoring in core subjects, homework assistance, and assistance with school projects. They also have access to SMART Board technology and online computers.
