Twins Found Not Guilty In Dog Burning Retrial. Prosecutors in the retrial of twins facing a number of animal cruelty charges said the evidence in the case was overwhelming.Yet, once again, the twins beat the charges. 11 News reporter Lowell Melser said it took the jury less than an hour to reach a not guilty verdict.Retrial juror No. 2 told Melser, “It is what it is. You can only go by what you see. Can’t go by what someone says. In a court of law, it’s not what you know, it’s what you can prove.”

Walmart Bleach Attacker Pleads Guilty. The woman behind a bizarre bleach attack at a Baltimore County Walmart has been banned from entering any Walmart location for the next five years.Theresa Monique Jefferson pleaded guilty in court Wednesday to second-degree assault.Prosecutors said she followed another woman into the Walmart Supercenter in Landsdowne in October and poured bleach and ammonia on her.

JFX Maintenance Closures To Snarl Traffic.  Some big changes are coming to the Jones Falls Expressway portion of Interstate 83, and road officials are warning drivers to make plans now to find another way to get to their destination.Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, one lane in each direction will close near 29th Street so crews can make emergency repairs to crushed drain pipes that are more than 20 feet beneath the surface. Repairs could last up to two months.

Warm, Dry Winter Bringing Chesapeake Bay To Life Early. Crabs are crawling out of the mud in the Chesapeake Bay earlier this spring, and that’s only the beginning of changes expected from a warm, dry winter.Lynn Fegley, deputy director of fisheries at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, said the mild winter will make everything a little different this year.Scientists are waiting to see if algae blooms are worse this year, and watermen say rockfish could spawn sooner. Bird watchers said many bird species are arriving one to three weeks early.
