Man Causes 4 Accidents, Crashes Into House In Annapolis

On April 6, 2012 at 1:58 pm, officers responded to the area of Hilltop Lane and Boxwood Rd for a motor vehicle accident with possible injuries.

Upon the officers’ arrival the driver of one of the vehicles stated the other vehicle involved in the accident left the scene. The driver described the vehicle as a green colored Ford Expedition.

While officers were investigating the accident, the APD received a call regarding another motor vehicle accident at Forest Dr and Gemini Dr involving a green Ford Expedition which also left the scene.

At that time, APD received additional calls about motor vehicle accidents at Forest Dr and S. Cherry Grove, and Forest Dr and Bywater Rd.

As officers were responding to the multiple accidents, it was determined that the green Ford Expedition was involved in all four accidents.

While investigating the multiple accidents APD received more calls stating a green Ford Expedition just crashed into a house in the 700 block of Bywater Rd.

Upon arrival of officers, the vehicle was unoccupied, however, several bystanders were able to point out the driver of the vehicle as he was attempting to flee on foot.

Officers located the driver and identified him as 29 year old Eric Castronova of Annapolis. He was arrested and charged with the following: Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Intoxicated, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, (4) counts of Leaving the Scene of an accident and multiple traffic citations. He is currently being processed at the Annapolis Police Department.
