Hobo Opens Flagship Store In Annapolis

| April 7, 2012 | 0 Comments

Hobo, the country’s premier “fun and funky” accessories brand, opens a flagship store in their hometown of Annapolis, MD.

The store, a renovated red and white 19th Century townhouse, is located in the heart of the historic city at 194 Green Street. This is Hobo’s first retail space. The brand is currently wholesaled to more than 3000 stores across the country.

The Annapolis flagship carries Hobo’s coveted collection of stylish handbags as well as their iconic line of small leather goods. Hobo was founded by Toni Ray, of Annapolis, MD, in 1991. Today, the company remains locally owned and operated by daughter, Koren Ray and her husband David Brewer.

The store design features an eclectic combination of materials, including polished concrete floors, back painted glass walls, exotic Matumi live-edge wood shelves, painted red trees and sculpted metal wall fixtures.

Hobo’s Chief Visionary Officer, Koren Ray, explains, “The two-floor space, which we meticulously designed to create an intimate shopping experience representing the Hobo culture and brand, is the perfect backdrop to showcase Hobo products.”

Hobo’s Chief Executive Officer, David Brewer, explains why the company chose Annapolis for their entry into the retail market. “Hobo was founded right here in Annapolis over twenty years ago. When we decided to open the store, our hometown was the clear choice for us. Hobo’s corporate office is here, as well as our family. We really feel that Hobo’s first flagship belongs in the heart of the Annapolis community”.

The ribbon cutting with Mayor Cohen took place on April 5.  The grand opening weekend events will take place through April 8th during store hours. The store hours are currently Monday through Saturday, 10 AM-6 PM and Sunday 12 PM–5 PM. Shoppers will receive a Hobo canvas tote with purchase.
