Current CRTC insignia

The Chesapeake Regional Tech Council (CRTC) and more than 350 technology executives from across the Annapolis-DC-Baltimore region convened at the BWI Hilton last week to celebrate TechAwards2012: Vision 2032+ – 20 Years in Tech. In recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the CRTC, the event paid homage to regional technology innovation over the past two decades while anticipating future milestones. The gala also marked the inauguration of a new award category, Future Innovator, which promotes excellence in technology advancement by a regional high school or college student.

“The TechAwards 2012 nominees and recipients represent the tremendous amount of talent and technological innovation that can be found in the Chesapeake region,” said Tim Lorello, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS) and president of the CRTC. “From startup companies to well-established entities, the individuals and companies in this region are changing the world by supplying our civilian government and our military with revolutionary technologies designed to keep us safe and secure; they produce game-changing technologies to help all of us communicate more effectively; and they contribute to good environmental stewardship by making environmentally friendly products more accessible.”

Created by the CRTC, a non-profit organization providing resources and education to regional technology companies, the awards recognized innovation and leadership in tech firms throughout the Annapolis-Washington-Baltimore area.
