21 Local Artists With Disabilities Selected For Exhibit At Arundel Center

The Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues announced today that it will hold an Opening Night Reception on Thursday, April 19, to kick off the 2012 Artists With Disabilities Art Exhibit. The reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Arundel Center, 44 Calvert St. in Annapolis, and is open to the public. Anne Arundel County Executive John R. Leopold will speak at 5 p.m. and give out recognition certificates to each artist. Light refreshments will be served.

Twenty-one local artists have been selected by jurors from The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County to display their work in the exhibit. The featured artists range in age from school children to older adults. The exhibit gives these artists who struggle with various disabilities a chance to showcase their talents in a highly visible, respected way.

In addition to the opening night reception, the public is invited to view the art exhibit at the Arundel Center during normal business hours from April 20 through June 15.
