Key School To Offer Summer Institute For Educators

Key School

Educators from the region’s public and private schools are invited to attend a summer teaching institute at The Key School in Annapolis, Md. The series of professional development seminars — entitled “Engaging Minds, Inspiring Ideas” — takes place on June 15, 2012, on Key’s campus, 534 Hillsmere Drive, Annapolis, MD.

The third annual institute focuses on interactive classroom tools and the thoughtful incorporation of those tools into curricula. Seminar topics include iPad use in the classroom, teaching with SMART Boards, and the collaborative power of Google Docs. The seminars are designed to provide venues for committed educators to share ideas and expertise rooted in interdisciplinary teaching and progressive educational practice.

Each seminar will include an examination of educational theory and an exchange of practical ideas, strategies and learning activities. Collaboration and reflection on practice are vital components of the institute.

Participants may elect to enroll in one or two of the half-day seminars. Course details and online registration are available on Key School’s website at http://www.keyschool.org/engagingminds.
