Anne Arundel County Officer Hit By Car

UPDATE 11:20pm: The accident occurred on southbound Route 665 just past the Riva Road exit and both directions of the divided highway are closed with traffic being diverted onto Riva Road. Apparently, the officer was in the process of a routine traffic stop when he was struck by a vehicle that came around the curve onto the highway.  More details will be available tomorrow as they become available.

Anne Arundel County police and fire are on the scene of an accident where a Anne Arundel County police officer was struck. The incident occurred just after 10:00 pm on Route 665 and Route 50. Police have not released any further details, but the officer was flown to shock trauma.
