Mentors Honored

Every day volunteer mentors make a difference in the lives of youth living in the City of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. Several of these caring volunteers and organizations were honored at the annual Mentor Awards on Thursday, March 15th at the Pip Moyer Recreation Center. This year eleven programs and mentors were recognized for the way they change lives in our local community.

We were excited to announce a new category added to this year’s award ceremony, Community “Hopeologist”. This special award, derived from the Kids at Hope philosophy, was awarded to Tony Spencer. Mr. Spencer was instrumental in bringing the philosophy of Kids at Hope to Annapolis and Anne Arundel County. His continuous support is critical to the initiative and it was an honor to present Mr. Spencer with this first annual award.

The Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County is proud to represent Kids at Hope through its mentor and tutor recruitment initiative the Treasure Hunters Clearinghouse.

For anyone thinking of becoming a mentor or tutor in Annapolis please email [email protected] for more information or an application today and it maybe you that we honor at next year’s award ceremony!
