A Spring Volunteer Fair will take place at the Kinder Farm Park Visitors Center, 1001 Kinder Farm Park Road, Millersville, 21108, on Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 9 am until Noon. The Fair takes place on the Saturday before National Volunteer Week, which occurs this year from April 15 – April 21.

Families, individuals, groups, in fact anyone who wants to learn about local volunteer and service opportunities, is encouraged to attend. There will be door prizes and light refreshments. We will also have a “grand-prize” drawing at 11 am for two tickets ($120 value) to the Volunteer Center’s Nite at the Races May 11th event at Loews Annapolis Hotel.

Organizations will be sharing information about opportunities for volunteers of all ages. Groups participating include the Volunteer Center, A.A. Dept of Recreation and Parks, RSVP/Dept. of Aging & Disabilities, Meals on Wheels, STARS – Woodland Job Corps, H.O.P.E., MD Therapeutic Riding, Assistance League of the Chesapeake, Partners in Care, Sarah’s House, Youth Golf Network, A.A. Dept. of Social Services, Bello Machre, and more.

Parking is free if you have an annual Recreation and Parks Parking Permit. Or, park near the sports fields for free. Otherwise, Kinder Farm Park has a daily vehicle parking fee of $6.00 so carpooling is encouraged. Note that in addition to the Volunteer Fair and Educational Exhibits at the Visitors Center you can enjoy the many facilities at the Park, including:
