Spring Gala For Londontowne Symphony

Friends and neighbors will gather at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville Tuesday evening, March 20, for flowers, wine, food, music, and a silent auction. This annual event will take place during Homestead Gardens’ Spring Flower Show.  While patrons are viewing the flowers on display, music will be provided by the String Quartet and the Brass Quintet from the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, The Ospreys, a trio from the South River High School, and others.

Those attending will also be treated to appetizers supplied by Chef Don Chomas, The Steakhouse, South River Subs, Fresh Market, and the Killarney House. And to quench the thirst, wine tastings will be provided by Boordy Vineyards in Hyde, MD.  If you like what you taste, the winery will sell you a full glass or a bottle to take home on the spot.

In addition to providing barbeque appetizers, Chef Chomas will be providing a demonstration of how to cook the perfect barbeque meats as he takes himself away from the preparation of his own Naptown barBAYq, a huge family BBQ Contest and Music Festival in May at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds.  Also, chef Jackie Cipriano will be demonstrating the preparation of Italian cuisine.

And as you stroll through the Gardens, you will have opportunities to meet members of the orchestra and to bid on silent auction items provided by local stores and establishments.

Doors will be open for the Gala from 6 PM to 9 PM. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple.  Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.LondontowneSymphonyOrchestra.org or by calling 410-562-8920.  Cocktail attire is requested.

Funds raised by the Gala will benefit the LSO so that they can continue to provide high quality but inexpensive classical music to Annapolis and to surrounding communities.  The orchestra is composed of professional and accomplished amateur and student musicians under the leadership of Music Director/Conductor Dr. Anna Binneweg.  Dr. Binneweg’s creative and appealing programming combined with her exceptional musicianship has helped the orchestra to attain higher levels of performance and has attracted new and talented musicians to the orchestra.
