Anne Arundel County Police Chief Appears Before Council, Says Little. A battle between Anne Arundel County and its top cop came to a head Monday evening.After first refusing to appear, Police Chief James Teare did testify in front of county council about his alleged involvement in the misconduct case involving County Executive John Leopold.

Marylanders march Against Racial Profiling. Hundreds of demonstrators filled downtown Baltimore on Monday evening for a rally and march in solidarity with Trayvon Martin, a teenager fatally shot in central Florida a month ago. Martin, 17, was fatally shot on Feb. 26 in Sanford, Fla. George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has since admitted to shooting and killing Martin, who was unarmed.

Woman, 76, Killed In Collision With Trash Truck. Police in Anne Arundel County are investigating a crash that killed a 76-year-old woman.The crash was reported about 11:15 a.m. Monday at Quarterfield Road and Myers Drive just past Interstate 97 in Severn.Detectives said the76-year-old woman was driving her car when it rear-ended a trash truck and then hit a tree.The woman, who hasn’t been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Mega Millions Jackpot Rises Again. The Mega Millions drawing Tuesday night could make someone more than $250 million richer.The jackpot has been increasing since January since no one has hit all the numbers. The jackpot is currently $363 million, or a $259.8 million cash value.The winning numbers pulled Friday night were 06, 17, 19, 20, 21, and the Mega Ball was 20.
