This will be Providence Center’s 20th Annual Moran Golf Classic.  Moran has been presenting sponsor for 16 years.  The event raises much-needed funds for Providence Center’s programs and services.

This year’s Classic will again be held at Queenstown Harbor in Queenstown.  It will take place on Monday, June 4, 2012, with the shotgun start at 10:00 AM.  Nearly 200 golfers will enjoy playing on Queenstown’s two courses with majestic views of the Chesapeake Bay, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and an iPad giveaway.

Providence Center Executive Director Chuck Coble said, “We are very pleased to have Moran Insurance as our presenting sponsor for the Classic.  This is one of the premiere outings in the region that directly benefits the extraordinary individuals we serve.  We are grateful to have the ongoing support of Marc Dorman, Matt Lehmann, and the entire Moran team.”

Matt Lehman, co-chair of the event and Vice President and Managing Partner of Moran added, “Providence Center provides a valuable services to adults with developmental disabilities.  Our company’s policy is based on improving our communities.  By supporting Providence Center and once again being presenting sponsor of the Classic, Moran Insurance is putting our philosophy into practice.”

Moran is also hosting a campaign for Providence Center on their Facebook page.  The campaign will donate $1000 to Providence Center when they reach 1000 likes on their Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MoranInsurance).

Last year, the Golf Classic generated nearly $50,000 for Providence Center’s programs and services.

“With the significant increases we are seeing in the price of gas, building broader support in our communities is vital to ensuring Providence Center can continue to provide the job training, supports, transportation, and many other services that help our participants gain greater independence and the ability to chart their own course in life,” Coble concluded.
