What: The Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County, in partnership with Anne Arundel Recreation and Parks and the RSVP Program of the Department of Aging and Disabilities are co-hosting a volunteer fair to help community organizations recruit volunteers. This event is also a way to educate our community on the types of services organizations provide and raise awareness of the resources offered to the community as a whole.
Who: Connect with participating groups who share your passion for making a difference: Volunteer Center For Anne Arundel County, A.A. Dept of Recreation. and Parks, (including youth summer volunteer opportunities and Parks Friends Groups), RSVP and Dept. of Aging & Disabilities, Meals on Wheels, STARS – Woodland Job Corps, H.O.P.E., Maryland Therapeutic Riding, Assistance League of the Chesapeake, Partners in Care, Sarah’s House, Youth Golf Network, A.A. Co. Dept. of Social Services and Bello Machre.
When: Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 9 am until Noon.
Where: Kinder Farm Park Visitors Center, 1001 Kinder Farm Park Rd. Millersville, 21108
Why: This event will take place on the Saturday before National Volunteer Week. What better way to salute the work that volunteers do in our community than to give volunteer agencies a hand—not just applause—a little help. Note that there will be door prizes and an 11am drawing for 2 tickets to the May 11, 2012 “Nite at the Races” Volunteer Center event at Loews Annapolis Hotel ($120 value).
Kinder Farm Park has a daily vehicle parking fee of $6.00 so carpooling is encouraged. In addition to the Volunteer Fair and Exhibits at the Visitors Center you are invited to enjoy the many facilities at the Park.
