Free Concert At Trinity United Methodist With Sons Of The Severn

Trinity United Methodist Church will host a free concert on March 18th, 2012, featuring the Annapolis area’s premiere men’s show chorus, The Sons of the Severn Barbershop Chorus. The  Maryland Express barbershop quartet will also perform, as will the Chesapeake Harmonettes, a vocal ensemble comprised of members of the Chesapeake Harmony Chorus. The concert will take place from 6:30 to 7:45 in the main sanctuary of the church, which is located at 1300 West Street, Annapolis. Members of the public are invited to attend. Admission is free, but freewill donations will be accepted. All donations will benefit Trinity UMC and its programs.

“As a musician myself, I can tell you this is some quality music, as well as a lot of fun,” says Trinity’s pastor, Reverend David Wentz. “We are really blessed to have the Sons of the Severn rehearsing at Trinity, and I know everyone who comes to hear them will have a great time.”

Sons of the Severn President Dave Bankard appreciates the special relationship between the chorus and the church. “Reverend Wentz and everyone else at Trinity UMC have been just wonderful since they opened their doors to us and gave us a permanent rehearsal space last June,” says Bankard. “They have given us so much, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to give something back to them.”

The Sons of the Severn Barbershop Chorus is the performing chorus of the Anne Arundel County chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code.
