The Bowie Baysox have announced a partnership with five local organizations for the 2012 season. In honor of the Baysox 20th season, the team has partnered with the groups to give back to the community that has been supporting the Baysox for the past two decades.
The goal of the program is to provide a donation back to the organization through advance ticket sales for a select game during the season. Each group will have one 24-hour window, before the date when single-game tickets go on sale to the general public, to sell tickets for their selected game. Half of the proceeds from the ticket sales during that special 24-hour window will be donated back to the organization.
“The Baysox have been honored to be a part of Bowie, as well as a part of the greater Central Maryland community for the last 20 years,” said Community Programs Manager Kate Milstead. “Our goal with this program was to create a unique fundraising experience for area non-profit groups to celebrate the diversity and strength of the local community. We could not have reached this landmark season without the good will and support of those closest to us, so now it is our turn to give back as part of this season-long commemoration.”
A list of the five participating organizations and the date their tickets will be available for purchase is included below:
- Chesapeake Percussion: Tickets on sale Monday, March 19 for game Sunday, April 22 using special offer code DRUMS;
- Mended Little Hearts: Tickets on sale Tuesday, March 20 for game Sunday, April 22 using special offer code HEART;
- Foundation for the Advancement of Music & Education (FAME): Tickets on sale Wednesday, March 21 for game Thursday May 17 using special offer code FAME;
- Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry: Tickets on sale Thursday, March 22 for game Thursday May 17 using special offer code PANTRY;
- Oriole Advocates: Tickets on sale Friday March 23 for game Sunday, May 27 using special offer code ADVOCATE.
