Annapolis’ 1st Intergenerational Fun Fair

The Chesapeake Children’s Museum, the only museum in the greater Annapolis area dedicated to children and their exploration of the world around them, has announced its participation in the area’s first Intergenerational Fun Fair.
The upcoming event is officially called the, “Annapolis Senior Activity Center Intergenerational Fun Fair in Support of the Chesapeake Children’s Museum,” on April 21 st from Noon-7pm at the Annapolis Senior Center, 119 South Villa Avenue, Annapolis, MD 21401 (Wiley H. Bates Heritage Park). It will be a place for family members of all ages to come together, play games, do crafts, listen to music, dance and eat. The cost is $5 per person (under 3 are free). Some of the musical acts we have confirmed are: Uno Dos Tres con Andres, the Show Stoppers, and the Still Kickin’ Band.
Event organizers are excited about forming a link between the Senior Activity Center and the children’s museum. The seniors regularly enjoy a full schedule of activities here – from aerobics to zumba – including American Sign Language, Chinese, ceramics, watercolor, concerts, lectures, and field trips around town and beyond. Likewise CCM’s programs not only engage children in active learning, but also draw in their accompanying adults as well. Our Executive Director, Deborah Wood, Ph.D., has said that CCM “is where children play to learn, and adults learn to play.”
“We are very thankful that the Annapolis Senior Activity Center is supporting the mission of the CCM,” added CCM’s Director of Development, Julie Davis. “We look forward to inspiring the community to cross the generational divide and come together to laugh, play, eat and enjoy one another.”
