Anne Arundel County’s Chief Administrative Officer, Dennis Callahan died of a heart attack this morning at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
We have confirmed with the County Executive’s Office that Callahan was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center this morning and was pronounced dead at 8:05am. Callahan was 70.
County Executive, John R. Leopold said, ” I always considered DC a trusted friend and adviser who always offered his candid opinions whether they agreed with mine or not. He had a long distinguished career of public service serving as Mayor of Annapolis, Director of Recreation and Parks, and most recently as Chief Administrative Officer for Anne Arundel County. Many citizens will join me in offering our sincerest condolences to his wife Brenda, his two sons, his grandchildren and many friends and family. He will be missed.”
